Three Months Now

I can't believe that it's been an entire month since I last posted anything on here. Then again, there hasn't been much to post. Well, Baby Jared is growing up fast. He's already three months old and has such an adorable little personality. I can't wait to see it develop even more. He's undoubtedly the most adorable baby in the universe! We've got several pictures to share. This past Saturday, we had a Primary activity to attend where Jared was doing a presentation. The primary children were getting sent to "missions," and Jared was the "mission president" for the Uruguay, Montevideo mission. So, in his preparations for that, he was getting things from the mission out. Among the items were one of his mate cups and straws and a hat, which we put on the baby. And so, we've got some pictures of Baby Jared drinking his mate wearing this hat. We thought he looked pretty darn cute. Here are some more pictures of our sweet boy. Some may be a little grainy or blurry, and for that I apologize.

Two Months Old!

Well, we took Baby Jared in for his two month check up today, and those dreaded immunizations. Our poor beautiful baby, he has such a blood curdling scream when he's extremely upset. It almost brought me to tears to see those mean ol' nurses sticking needles into my son, making him scream and making the tears flow from his eyes. Daddy was there with us. He's such a tremendous help to me. I sure am lucky to have married the most phenomenal man in the world who has become the MOST amazing father and husband. (I can see the rolling eyes of many a Shackleford brother.) Anyway, little Jared weighed in at 13 1/4 lbs. and measured 23 3/4 inches. They say he's a perfect baby. So, as I've pretty much said already, Baby Jared turned two months this past Saturday, the 9th. (It certainly doesn't feel like it's been two months.) That evening, he was lying on my shoulder after eating and I heard his burp. I let him continue to lie there comfortably until he started rubbing his face on my shoulder. I took him away from my shoulder and this is what Jared and I saw......

Yep, he had spit up all over my shoulder and then rubbed his face in it, unknowingly, I'm sure. I think he decided to join in on the smiling and giggling after hearing Jared and I. It was just so darn cute. I guess every little disgusting thing a parent's child does is cute to them.

Here are a couple of other pictures too, just because they're pretty cute. Jareds Sr. and Jr. are practicing their TV watching together, getting prepped for college football. (Please pay no heed to the naked bed.)

Fussy Baby

Jared felt that we ought to put these pictures on our blog for everyone else to enjoy. We laugh everytime we look at this one. Baby Jared was having such a horrible, horrible day. He was barely two weeks old and it was one of those nursing marathon days, and if that's not what he was doing.....well, the pictures tell us all what he was doing. To make things worse, he got swaddled. Our child HATES having a blanket covering his arms. When we would swaddle him, he'd wriggle his little arms right out. Even still, taking an evening walk in the stroller, he doesn't care if mosquitos are trying to suck his sweet baby blood or if the wind is blowing on him, he'll fight to have his arms out from under a blanket. We get so many good laughs from him every single day.

So, we've finally decided to take some words of advice and start a blog to keep our loved ones updated on our little family. With a recent new addition and being so far from everybody, we hope that thilss will help everyone feel like we haven't fallen off the face of the earth. We also are just SO proud of our little boy and want to share his cuteness with our friends and family, and so this, we figure will be the best and easiest way to do so. And, with that said, let us start showing our little Jared Jr. off!
